I'm shocked at all the negative reviews, when I've had mainly good experiences with them. Maybe that's because I haven't returned the few items that didn't work for me, but I've bought several tops in pretty colors (I wash them in cold & NO dryer heat to avoid shrinking). I have several jackets, including corduroy in different jewel colors, so classy with business outfits, or jeans. Also bought jewel colored pullover sweaters, & a really classy raincoat. I avoid Foxcroft due to size problems, including arms, & I don't buy dresses from them. Maybe the problem is I don't return so I dint know about their customer service is like, but I've mainly helped build a bright, practical wardrobe as a repeat customer.

I order everything. I'm shocked that Appleseed's advertised 10 days for standard shipping. No one takes that long to ship in stock items. The in stock shirt I ordered took four days to process. It is now in Georgia and expected delivery is six days later in Southern Ohio. Unheard of.

I placed an order to receive before Easter. I ordered a tunic and was sent a sweater. I returned the item and was asked if I wanted the correct merchandise sent. I received the package today and it was a pair of pants. Appleseed's shipping cost are high, but they can't even get your order correct. This was not the first time this has happened. I won't do business with them again.

This translates as a defective item. Cigarette smell is impossible to get out of clothing. Their bad. Return of item and free return shipping requested. I would have been happy to keep the item because I liked it but it is impossible to wear.

I'm currently on the phone with Customer (non)Service after being on hold for almost 30 minutes. The (non)gentleman repeatedly interrupted me & spoke over me. After tolerating this behavior many times, I finally pointed out that I was speaking. He is now not responding. I'm still on the line! >5 minutes of the silent treatment & 3 unanswered requests to speak with his supervisor prompted me to write this review. Unbelievable & unprofessional behavior. What kind of personnel does this company hire?!

I ordered three items on January 11. I received two of them on February 1 and the third one will not arrive until February 8. Although I like the quality of the two items so far, I will never order from this company again. I have ordered from Lands End, LL Bean, Amazon., Etsy, and a few others. Never have I Had to wait about a month for my things to reach me. I would warn anyone who has a time limit on some items to avoid Appleseeds by all means.

Tip for consumers:
If I had known how terribly slow this company is in shipping items , I would have ordered from someone else.
One month to ship items is inexcusable!

The two T-shirts I purchased were a different length (21") than the 24" advertised, but when I asked about refund/return I was told I would have to pay a shipping fee $6.99 and/or restocking fee $9.50. Even though all the company had to do was measure their t-shirts to see that I was right, they just kept repeating to me their standard return policy. I emailed and phoned several times to try to get some satisfaction but no one could alter the standard return policy.

Tip for consumers:
Their customer service is useless. No one on the phone can help w a problem, email reply is the same. The sizing of their merchandise is off but they do not let you return items for free in spite of this. Proceed at your own risk. I would keep away from this company.

Products used:
I could not use either product because the sizing was different from what was written on their site.

I'm sad to see that so many are dissatisfied, or feel like they had a bad experience. Appleseeds has been a blessing for me, really brightened up my wardrobe, & the corduroy jackets are CLASSY & quick to top off a daytime outfit.

Many colorful pullover tops, especially mock neck, 3 or 3 pullover sweaters, several corduroy jackets, other jackets like velour, velour lounge tops. Bathrobe, raincoat.

This company that has many complaints operates this way, they offer you a coupon and if you take it you are 'enrolled' in their VIP crap and will be charged monthly until you catch it on your card! I realized that happen to me for years without getting anything in return. I have been paying $14.97 for nothing in exchange.
I will contact my attorney also to see how this happen and how they keep that going for years without my approval. How about we get together and file a class action against the company.

Appleseed should go out of business, It is a horrible company. They scam the elderly. My 90.5-year-old mom ordered a robe from them way back in November, for a pending surgery. She still doesn't have it. And they keep changing the date of arrival. Now they are saying it should be delivered in February. Plus, they keep her on the phone for over an hour whenever she calls to check on her order. That's unacceptable! WARNING: Do NOT order anything from Appleseed, or you will be very disappointed. And it's impossible to get any customer service issues resolved with them.

I have bought clothes from Appleseeds for years. I also used to buy from Coldwater Creek until they were no longer in business. Appleseeds' are good clothes at reasonable prices. I don't always like everything I get but there has been no problem returning. I just received a Balmacaan coat and it is lovely, great color, navy and size large. Also I have trouble with updating my computer and so order by phone and always receive the 'percent off' price with the code.

I give one star only because I had to. They admitted proudly that shipping charge is based on the original cost of the items ordered not on clearance, and also not by weight. All round experience with their procedures and lack of customer service is appalling. Some items ordered were of poor quality and fit. When I attempted to return, there was a restock fee. Everything looks good on the models, not all are and they take no responsibility for cheap fabric at high prices and it becomes the consumers fault if you try to return so they charge you to do so. No company I order from online does this.

On December 4, placed an order. One of the items in the order was the ruffled collar plain tunic and I used $20 from my rewards as part of the payment for the order. The fabric irritated my skin and the cut was strange so it didn't fit correctly or hang right. I returned it within 2 weeks of receipt using their packing label. So far so good. I was expecting a refund to my credit card of $57.45 (the original purchase price less the $6.95 shipping cost for using their label). What I received was a refund to my credit card of $37.26. I called Appleseeds and had to call back several times before I finally got a real person to talk to. What I learned is that Appleseeds will not refund the $20 I used in rewards, or spread it over all the items in the order, or return it to my rewards bank. Apparently, the policy is that any coupon, rewards or gift card used on a purchase is deducted from a return (even if only 1 item in an order it returned) as well as the shipping cost for using their label. Then, the person is emailed a store credit for the amount of the rewards, coupon or gift card used and the store credit expires in 90 days. Since I don't currently need anything from Appleseeds, the store credit is useless to me. I think what concerns me the most is that I was totally unaware of this policy. I didn't see it on any of the return paperwork I completed or in any of the emails I received. This policy also makes the rewards program rather pointless as I probably return 20% of my orders because they don't fit correctly. If any rewards I use are deducted off the return, then it's pointless to use the rewards or if I do, it's pointless to return the item, it would make more sense to try to sell it. All this to say. I won't be shopping at Appleseeds in the future.

Tip for consumers:
sometimes there is free shipping but a minimum order it usually required.

I returned an item.
My total purchase fee: $42.98.
They refunded only $23.00!
I asked why they kept almost half.
Only after I filed a grievance thru Paypal did they finally
Say the rest was for "shipping and return shipping costs".

Tip for consumers:
Their sizes seem way off this year for this article of clothing.
My usual size didn't fit.
They didn't warn their customers about that.
I had to return twice to finally get a correct fit.
A small fortune, since their shipping costs are steep.

The descriptions of the items are inaccurate. It says 100% cotton and the item I recieved says 100% acrylic. One item was totally missing from my order and one item had two large holes. The customer service number says "press zero to speak to an operator" I pressed zero and it says goodbye and hangs up. DO NOT purchase on this website.

The '8-10 business days' warning is in regard to the time to have the order 'in process' which involves placing the item in the box and ordering a FedEx pickup. It's 9 days longer than an any online apparel company would logically need. Never again. It's a case of a small company not coping with the order volume and forcing their customer service folks to read from a script.

This is the worst company I have ever ordered from. After waiting over 6 weeks for my order to arrive, it was incomplete. I tried to cancel the order after waiting 5 weeks, however, they told me there was nothing they could do to help me as it was ready to ship. When I got the order, the invoice stated I was charged for 4 items (only 3 were in the package). After calling customer service, I was told the item was cancelled and to check my credit card statement. Horrible company... I will never shop here again.

Products used:
I kept 3 shirts because I didn't trust the company to give me a refund and I had to pay to return them. It was cheaper and less stress to just keep the shirts.

Like most of you, at the end of a guest checkout I signed up for a future discount coupon and thought it was to log my purchase under my name. Immediatley after doing so, I went back to read more and it seems they are going to bill me $1.99 for this and then $14.99 per month! I have never even purchased from this company, and just purchased because they now have a few pieces from wintersilks. Upon further investigation, it seems that Wintersilks was running this same scam. I immediately (within 5 min) tried to call them and they hung up on me 3 times. They are not available on weekends, I found after choosing a few more options. I am really mad. Someone like my Mom would do this and be billed indefinitely and not know it or how to stop it.

Have read a lot of bad reviews re sizing, fit, customer service. I ordered two long sleeve T-shirts on 5/6/2020 and received them 5/12/20. Perfect size. I will be ordering from this company again. Just in case readers think I have an interest in the company, I DO NOT.

Worst customer service ever, I've tried, but not gonna waste anymore of my money on them. I ordered something about a month ago, still don't have it. They'll get it to me eventually, they say. They put 3 to 4 items in a tiny mailer, like letter size. Then you'll get one tank top in a kitchen trash bag sized mailer. Their return process includes a form that is not like any other I've ever seen. I've "exchanged" at least two pieces, neither has ever arrived. They are just too hard to do business with, I'll stick to Talbots or Coldwater Creek, etc.

Rec'd wrong item and called immediately as i needed it for a certain date. Half hour wait for customer service and no one came on line. Tried ordering line and got someone immediately. However, i was 5 minutes past the fed ex express shipping deadline and they could not help me. Also, if i wrote rec'd wrong item on return label and there is not space for that! I might be able to avoid the return fee. Even a supervisor was unwilling to help.

Nice quality ordered a petite large in color buttercup, sweater runs larger than expected, did not like color. Returning for petite medium in classic navy color, hope it will work out better. Marilyn Marquardt

Normally I don't do reviews but I ordered a coat before I read the reviews. There were so many bad reviews I was very nervous. If I would have read them first I would have never ordered my coat. I am so glad I didn't because I LOVE MY COAT! I received it 3 days after I ordered it. Fit perfectly. Very classy look! So happy I didn't read the bad reviews first. My husband said don't worry usually only people who are not satisfied write reviews so I'm very satisfied and I wanted everyone to know.

My mother has bought her clothes her for years and now I am buying them for her. I find this company does not keep up with current trends of marketing. Their discounts and free shipping are misleading to me, yet alone a senior citizen and my mother. You can never get anyone to help on the customer service line. I have had to return 6 pairs of pants because I can not get anyone to help me with fit. I wish Appleseed's website was more user/customer service friendly... also, you need to IMPROVE the website as well!
