I agree with many on here. Joybird had many alias'. I know of a few moderators that said yes they did change posts so they could get a rise out of the masses. The owners and mods are to blame for the demise. I was on for 8 years on and off. The Answerology reloaded is run by an egotistical misogynist. Need doesn't

I joined up yesterday, cause the origional got closed down and figured I'd give it try. But OMG. This poor girl had posted a rather personal relationship question, and did so anonymously - which I saw as in reason. And they were all rather rude to her, after as a way to keep herself unknown she made new 'questions' related to the comments. Then they became OBSESSED with who was she. I commented on her question, giving it back to the girls picking on her, then giving her advice from my similar experience to what she was going through. And that is when they all turned on me - saw that coming. They actually thought I was this poor woman looking for help. My last comment got 'flagged'. And then the whole thread disappeared except the the origional post. And I had just asked a question regarding cake flavours for my shop. One of the same people commented something to the affect 'shoot how long is this gonna take' and gave me one flavour. And then I was just going to check for other answers and the account is gone. I actually 'ran' into a few of those names listed in other earlier posts. There are like 75 members. And they all probably 'started' it back up, cause I just skimmed through a thread of them asking where so and so where.

I was a member here from 2006 on, under the screen name CD*******.
It was a banging site for the first several years, and then ownership changed...

And then the membership characteristics changed. Dramatically (pun intended).

It went very much from a site about helping people in their relationships to just another teen/tween angsty whiny site where people asked "should I be concerned?" or "does he like me?" 2x an hour.

I took a break in 2009 for a year, and again in 2015, pretty much permanently.

It could be the over-moderation, or just boring posts... doesn't matter.
It was once a FANTASTIC site, with worthwhile advice and thoughtful contributions.
And then it wasn't.
And then, inevitably, it was gone.

So long Answerology, I will remember you fondly.

I was a member for 3 years... and the current moderators (when I left)... stink, stank, stunk--as moderators. They were the entire reason I stopped visiting the site. I have been away for 6 months and miss the online 'friends' I made there. The site is dying due to over moderation. It is an adult site... with adult categories, and yet---posters are treated like they are in kindergarten. Ban, ban, posts are reworded, removed... vanish. Why anyone is still there at this point baffles me.

I've been a member here for 10 years. It's a good site to get feedback on life issues on a variety of subject. Putting yourself out there, you'll get thoughtful answers from others as well as the odd troll. Take what you like and leave the rest.

You can't post such a harsh review and then post links to your question and expect people to not think you're nuts. Did you read her examples? Did you see why she thought these people were evil?

She posted that gay people, just by being gay, are killing people. Her boss at McDonald's is gay, and people are "getting sick" from eating there.

Not because the food is bad, but because the manager is GAY. You can't post stuff like that and expect a pat on the head and a there-there...

I've been a member of the site for 8 years and it's up and down, good and bad, but mostly a really great place to go if you have questions, problems, need advice, or just want to help someone.

Don't let the odd looney toons fool you. Judge for yourself. Go there. Check it out.

I have been a member here since 2009, and I post under the screenname rumloverreturns, and as I see my SN being slandered here I wish to make some corrections. The person who claimed she was raped was making these claims long before I joined, I have never met anyone in person from the site let alone invited them to my home and I have never posted a picture of myself to protect my anon status.

There are trolls who visit this site just to stir the pot and are usually sent away to think again. This causes them some frustration which has clearly been transferred to this site.

Joybird, jillipo, justpassingthru are working hard to destroy this site by pulling all posts and responses from people they have decided to hate. Too bad AO doesn't turf them. I forgot to add rumloverreturns to the above list.

Well well well... As a member of 8 years (with a short hiatus) I have to say I disagree with some of these negative reviews. The site is certainly not what it once was but it is an interesting and varied community. Some people can be quite rude but mostly people are supportive. It is like any random selection of a large community. You're going to get people of different backgrounds, races, religions, political leanings and morality. You have to take the good with the bad. Most of the people whose screennames have been published here are not as bad as they are being portrayed. Some people simply cannot handle the blunt, honest truth. As with anything, if you don't like it, leave. Pretty simple really.

After reading the comments here and associating them with their probable authors I am offended that I wasn't attacked here.

This site made me cry. Why it is still active is beyond me.The posters who gave a 1 are all telling the truth. As you see the few who came to give it a 3 or 4 were all names of the attackers. Walt for example, is actually Buffer, who makes jokes and attacks people but you can never tell if he is serious. He still is not as bad as the ladies who came to give this a 3 and 4, as well as a few others. I used to have an account at this site a few years ago. There was always lots of fighting among the regulars but it got increasingly bad. Many people were attacked because of choosing the option as anonymous when posting answers or questions. People would attack the anonymous person by trying to make them look bad. Sometimes it worked. People left all the time, everyday that I was there 2 or 3 more people left the site, never to be seen again. I recently went back onto my account to find out I have been hacked or something. A moderator admitted to me in email that she had my account information and she could make me look "really bad" to the rest of the site. I had been going anonymous because of a couple of moderators who were picking on me. I answered a question and when I did a moderator changed my answer into a very rude one and then used her moderator account to call my name out and tell everyone who I was. I left that day very hurt, and the next day when I tried to sign on, my account was deactivated and I couldn't get into it. I don't know why this woman hates me! I have been nice to her, even staring her stuff and she just started acting like this out of nowhere. I know this has happened to others. All the complaints are no jokes. These people have been very hurt by the regulars on this site. Don't waste your time with it.

I've used Answerology off and on for 8 years. I've noticed vast changes in membership and the kinds of questions people ask over the years. I will be candid that one thing I see is an extreme narcissistic kind of dumbing down with a companion resistance to responses that are pretty accurate in assessment of the question being asked. Either the people asking don't want to hear what is very good advice or they can't comprehend it. It's disturbing... really disturbing, especially since what comes next is a whine that everyone is just being mean or a troll. It's an age old story of youth thinking themselves smarter than those that have traveled the road for decades before them. Answerology also has experts but these same people don't want to take their advice either. Your prior respondents rating the site are perfect examples. The only thing that really should be changed on Answerology is that there should no longer be any anonymous activity. You should have to create a profile and your profile name should be listed no matter what you ask or answer.

Regarding Answerologyreloaded.com:
Answerologyreloaded is a slightly amped up version of Answerology that was owned by Hearst corporation and shut down. There are similar problems at this new site that mimic the old version only this time there is only one moderator... the owner. Here's the where the problem lies. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. The new owner takes a "do as I say, not as I subtly do" position and in doing so excludes members in the same way moderators on Answerology used to do. There is some suggestion he moderated on the old site and just continues the same things that occurred there. No one can question anything that occurs especially if he is the one breaking his own rules. If he doesn't like the kind of questions asked then a series of subtle negative posts appear targeting that person's posts. This creates an environment where a handful jump on the bullying bandwagon and the person(s) being targeted than cease contributing in some way. There appears to be an ingroup and outliers and that was something that occurred in the old site as well. People may mean well but they have fallen into the same kind of open and covert antagonistic behaviors that existed on the old site. Yes this new version has some perks like being able to include a meme, gif or video to a response or post but is the rest of the dynamic there worth it? Maybe or maybe not. It really depends on which end of the stick or which group you end up in. The amount of perceived membership is also deceiving. While there may appear to be 300 members in reality only a couple dozen people consistently log in as members and participate. The amount of questions posed are often few and far in between. There is in fighting about what the content of questions should be or how people should respond. Seems that the more you attempt to control dialogue the more is lost in the process until what is left is just propaganda that only reflects the beliefs of the owner.

I have been a member for 7 years and now out of the blue for reasons I dont know, it says I cannot access ansswerology or my account. I would like to know why, I have no access. All it gives me is this bunch of numbers, and says access denied? Wtf?#18. Fcf33b8.*******? I would like to delete my account at least? How can they do this?

Site. However, it seems that the moderator is deleting posts out of spite.

4 or 5 women keep attacking me and other people. Apparently one of them, Justpassingthru, is not only a moderator of the site, but a cruel heartless $#*! at that. Do not disagree with her bad morals, or she will have all your post pulled and private message you with all of her accounts telling you how stupid you are and how no one likes you. She does this for days. One of the most ignorant and backward, rude $#*!es I have ever met. If you have any brains at all, stay away from this site. You don't want to waste your time, or be considered part of their "group". I made an account asking about a boss at work, and a new ban and I get some of the worse and offensive comments. I asked for their opinions on the law, and I get called every name in the book... Like I wrote the law or something. It makes me laugh at how rude and mean these women are, and how sweet and slutty they act to the men on the site.
Rumloverreturns, justpassingthru, houseworkmakesyaugly, mmajw, justpassingthru2, justpassingthru3, justpassingthru4. Avoid these slut bags at all cost, or you're going to have a bad time. Just starting my account. It is 6 hours old. I am already leaving the site.
Also they pulled my question cause I gave them all jerk awards. Mainly because of answering the question they called me offensive names. I hope those women burn.

I totally agree, I saw someone put something about this site on answerology.
I could not agree more on whats been posted here. DO NOT waste your time on this site. I have wasted 2 years of my life. I have better things to do then be treated like those people treat everyone. I have never met so many people who were so clueless. Its rare, true and good information even passes through there. There is a few people on there who are actually kind and smart, also helpful... but even they fall prey to this animal like life style most of them play out on that site.
Too many of them get upset if you disagree at all, and you can't seem to have your own mind or be anonymous. Joybird, justpassingtru(1, 2, 3, 4 and how ever many more she has made) Hynegrl, and several others only troll on the site. Apparently some of the trolls have somehow got mod status. I deleted my account. This site is highly unsecure. When I was not typing in anonymous, I got pop ups, viruses, and tons of emails, not only from answerology, but from the adds that poped up on answerology.
The people there are so mean. If anyone objects to the mob mentality those people have they tell you, you don't have a thick skin and to leave. When you don't befriend them, like adding them to facebook and joining their little "group" they treat you like crap, and call you names every time you post anything.
This site is a scam also. You can't actually have your information totally deleted. They sell your information. I wish I could even put minus stars. 2 years I stayed around that hell waiting for it to somehow change but it even corrupted the ones there who actually were trying to help. All that's there now are the ones who feel like its all they have for social interaction.
They are all depressed and when they ask why, they don't stop and look at this mentality, that they let people be jerks, to regulars and to new comers. They ran everyone good off that site. Answerology now feels like the place where all the rude people go, and every time you put something you get called names.
The whole site, mods and all, they are trolls. 90% of the information they give is hurtful and uneducated. And if its not, its stolen articles from the internet.
They should really close that site down.

Answerology was once a thriving community, pre-Facebook, around the beginning of MySpace popularity. At that time the posts moved so fast that by the time you answered the top post it was halfway down the second page. People moved on, the economy took a dive and Facebook became popular.

Now, some of the reviews below... The person claiming attempted rape must have had that happen in my 2 year hiatus, because as a member of nearly 9 years I never saw that blow up. The drivel about Rumlover occurred while the user was listed under another name so I call bollocks on the gang up attempt. Hnygrl is very fair and almost always nice with her advice. Joybird can be very opinionated but she is an intelligent, educated woman, at least you know where you stand.

Justpassingthru is another one for honesty, not a thing wrong with that in my book. Maripossa333 was contracted site admin, never owned the site. Stillagoodguy1 and myndseye are an AO institute and I have never ever had a bad experience with either in all the years, not even when posting anon.

The site is a shadow of what it once was and Hearst have essentially abandoned it. Make of it what you will, don't like it, don't stay. Pretty simple.

I'm going to say this however, I am certain I can identify the reviewer with the initials A.M. and they are not popular, nothing to do with the reasons claimed. Take these reviews with a grain of salt.

The moderators there are all a bunch of non responsive people who group up with a few certain members who control the place fraudulantly. If your answer to many questions they find way's to ban you. So all that hard work and dedication gets flushed down the toilet. It's like spending a week building a nice myspace account and having it deleted because someone got jealous.

Their rules only apply to certain people. The moderators favorites. The owner never returns responses. Mariposa333 is her name. I asked moderators three different time on three different occasions why limited access was given to me and I have recieved no response.

If you want to pop a question or spend 30 mins to register to get a questions answered fine. This is not a place like my space or face book. It's about as entertaining as a pop up add for a product you have no use for.
