Very misleading when it comes to usage rights... would not ever use again! (if there was no star option I would click this.)

Alamy rely on inexperienced user making slipping up so they can cash in with VERY aggressive legal tactics!

If you have a camera just take you own images and don't bother with Alamy!... if you need stock images go elsewhere and really make sure you fully understand what licence is being sold if it expires etc... one wrong move there won't be a warning just VERY aggressive legal tactics!

I spent $20 for an image from Alamy. Upon downloading the "high resolution" image from their site it looked terrible! The colors were all washed out and blotted. The subjects face was not even recognizable. I reached out to try to get a refund or another image that was truly high quality and from there the representatives were kind enough but unwillingly to make good on their part of the deal saying that there was no refunds given. I shared their terms and conditions with them where it specifically says that defective images will be reimbursed and they only encourage me to load the bad image up in a photo editor as if a photo editor can fix a bad image. $20 down but lesson learned. Even if you take pictures using the most expensive camera and the most advanced mobile phone with higest resolution, they will simply reject your images despite the beauty of the images. Imagine, you need to put a picture of a tree on your website and alamy required the photographer to upload it in 17mb of size! What in the world a small image for a website in 17mb of size!
alamy.com is a rubbish.!

Company hiding adverts for products actually selling images of product.
Con artists and scammers.
Don't be fooled. A real company would refund customers who make honest mistakes.

The photo I purchased was advertised as "high resolution," with 47 MB. The photo I received was over-compressed, with1.7 MB. The photo advertised was clear with high resolution. The photo I received was blurry and low-resolution.

Details:
Paid for 2-3 day shipping, having Christmas in mind, with delivery by Dec 22nd. Order placed 16th Dec 2023. No shipping info received as of the 20th of December so I called a representative in the UK who assured me that the oder should still be received by Christmas if it shipped "today or tomorrow", although he provided no information as to the disposition of my order. On 26th December, with still no information on shipping, I placed an email to cancel the order. Denied.
So on 26th December I initiated a return... No response
But rather an email the following day that the order was in transit, and return information.
Dec 28,2023 received an email that order had shipped. Order arrived Dec 30th and both framed images blurry; seemed to be over enlarged.
I paid $28.87 for 2-3 Day delivery when actual was 14 Day delivery...

Fake website, do not use. They are selling pic that do not belongs to them. Also some pictures are free on other sites

I am an Alamy contributor... Was... Until today!
I tried to upload images taken with an iPhone and point-and-shoot camera, but they wrote me: "Digital camera not suitable for Alamy", and told me to use a DSLR with at least 17 megapixel sensor instead, and froze my account for 3 days.
So I purchased a 24.1 megapixel Canon EOS 2000D. When I uploaded some images, they told me that the images are too SMALL, and told me to use at least 30 megapixel DSLR, and FROZE my account AGAIN! For 6 days.
That is why I purchased a new 32.5 megapixel Canon EOS 90D. After that, uploaded an image, and they told me that the image is too BIG, and I should use a DSLR with at 24 megapixel instead... And FROZE my account AGAIN! For 10 days!
It is a serious waste of time and loss of money. I do not recommend them at all!

alamy.com is an online stock photo library using (and abusing) photographers to sell pictures through their platform at the lowest prices to the lowest bidders with no guarantee in term of copyright and respect for the authors.
The contributor are lured into submitting thousands of images, naively thinking they will make money while in fact being part of a "room filling" to allow the same happy few in league with alamy to sell their pictures.

I like Alamy's setup of pricing but their best attribute is the massive content their site hosts. Photographers and libraries, past and present, can be found here which is a need for me and they get the job done. Only recently have they reached out to me to begin establishing a relationship which is good. I would say they need to do more of this as stock photography sites of their market, which primarily would be AgeFotoStock, already have superior customer service but I cannot say anything negative at this point regarding the site as they have always met my needs.

Stock photography - This is a really awesome place to get stock photography, or just browse through pictures, I spend hours on it.
