Apparently, their staff members can heckle and shout expletives at you when they disagree with your posts in a subsequent conversation, but when you bring it to the other staffs attention, they will silence you with a ban instead of addressing the issue from the onset.

If you're looking for an alternative news site, this is not the place to be. Their rules and regulations are arbitrary, this has apparently become a more and more open and accepted thing in their circle. No responsibility or self respect.

It was a better place back in 2010-2014. After that it became way way too right-wing, partisan and political. It's still better than Godlike Productions, I give it that, but it's way worse than it used to be in the past. It was my go-to resource for things like nature, space exploration news, mysteries, UFO sightings, cryptozoology, dreams, history discussions, lost civilizations, etc. cool stuff.
Now it's drowning in Political/agenda topics, it's so boring. At least one can only visit specific sub-forums, which however are less active than before. Might be worth checking from time to time but it's no longer worth it to have a registration and post IMO. It was funny for a while with threads about the cleavage of that Colleen Thomas lady but lately it's too negative. If it was 2010-2013 I would give it 3 or even 4 stars, but nowadays it deserves 2.5 at most.

This site is anti Trans and Gay people. It is also against any certain religious communities, including Islam and Reform Paganism. It is anti LGBTQ and anti Black Americans. They have none of the above as members. I have seen members try, but they are ganged up on and bullied; banned if they retaliate.

Over the years I have watched this site constantly bully diversity. They are barbaric the way they treat any members who are psychologically diverse.

It is a far right, white site. It has been reported to human rights organizations for bullying and banning anyone of a different political outlook.

Used to be a forum for discussion but now it's a platform for spreading paranoia and radical fake news which I fear one day will result in violence from some of their mentally unhinged members.

AboveTopSecret.com should definitely be added to our government's watchlist for the radical environment it nurtures and encourages.

There is a toxic culture of doubt and cynicism flowing all through ATS. The majority of the daily topics are political in nature and most of the members have a very conspiratorial bias to the point of asinine delusion. There is much gaslighting, and many of the viewpoints sound like they are coming from jerk introverts that don't travel and just watch the news.

A little research into the more popular contributors reveals that many post on ATS for 12 or more hours a day in predominately politically charged forums. A look into the content of these posts reveals little substance, and the majority of the time they are goading and prodding those with different views. Many of these members are using multiple computers and sock puppet accounts to further boost their neon green stars and reinforce their opinions.

There was a time when it was a different landscape, but that time is gone. What's left of the paranormal forums is the same old people seeing phenomena in dust particles lit up by the flash on a handheld camera. The UFO well has practically dried up. Hundreds of millions of cellphones with video capability+ the new arrival of consumer drones and still nothing.

That leaves politics. And it has ravished ATS and revealed a lot about its members. Quality contributors are a thing of the past, and when they appear, it's still all about politics. Divisive rhetoric is king.

After several years of reading the site on and off through a couple of presidential campaigns and bogus UFO disclosures, I've learned that ATS is mostly morons, some pseudo intellectuals, a whole bumper crop of social justice warriors, a LOT of old men, and a few real psychopaths, many of them seem incredibly lonely, and use the site as an echo chamber.

It was announced recently that the site is potentially going under. It's no wonder why.

Good riddance.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist. I'm not a woo-woo guy but I am a believer in UAP Activity, Ariel phenomenon and few other subjects - I follow all of the big names on the topics and some people that are a little less known. Occasionally, I stumble upon the abovetopsecret website and they have some interesting things posted. It's not a site that I frequent often but I did spend a good amount of time browsing the forums. Good lord. Tons of right wing false rhetoric, verging on the alt right - These are people that actually believe fake news. That's hurts the cause of investigating real cases of Ariel phenomenon and UFO activity. You need someone who is based in science, technology and reality. But reading through quite a few threads, I say if you were into the whole UFOUAP phenomenon or even supernatural topics, stay the hell away from tfalsehoods. It's not useful for objective and constructive discussion of these topics. These people aren't open minded. Not to disrespect anyone, but there I say they are paranoid schizophrenics. These are people that I have major your trust issues. I consider people who study UFO phenomenon my brothers and sisters and but I don't know what to say about these other people... There is a huge difference between someone being open minded and someone with a mental disorder. The only reason I gave an extra star is for the actual website content that I come across sometimes. But the forum Is so egregious, that it actually takes the overall rating way down. It's a shame. Here we are trying to get to the root of the truth and you have a forum full of people who literally live off of falsehoods. No good.

ATS use to be a quirky & fun, but now it is a haven for unstable right wing nuts.
The FBI needs to make ATS one of their targets. Im all for free speech, but ATS is filled with members posting about violence & terror that should come to those who are not Alt Right or crazy like them.
It's a QAnon hive that has mods that encourage & look past all Alt Right garbage as they persecute reason on all fronts.
I would not be surprised if the alphabet agencies dont have extensive files on ATS members.
On a side note, once all the boomers die off there won't be many members left on ATS.

Stay far away from ATS, because it causes brain damage

ATS used to be awesome, back in the early 2000s when it was mostly about ufo/alien and government conspiracies. Now it has turned into mostly a political site and instead of promoting civil discourse and decorum, moderators allow long term members to name call and bully newer members on the political threads which is almost every thread now on the site. These long term members (I say members because few have been visiting the site since the very early 2000s and very few are even interested in the site except for as a repository for political rhetoric) will use ad hominem against newer members for expressing the same viewpoint longer term members have expressed in the same thread, but they don't name-call those longer term members.

It is like a clubhouse where if you are a newer member, the good ol boys are allowed to try and chase you away from the site through bullying. It works.

Also those long term members who participate in the bullying are the always the first to name-call, but once they have repeatedly used ad hominem against you to try and bait you into calling them names, they are the first to report you for even the mildest retort to their constant bullying. I should change the title of this review to a few snowflakes spoil the bunch.

They ban stuff they don'; t like yet allow total crap to remain on there if it fist with their views. As bad as mainstream media which is saying a lot.

Sadly, politics is the dominating subject there now. Before that it used to be interesting when people posted stories or research and debate in conspiracies (world control, population control, etc), paranormal, UFOs, and personal stories of dream experiences and predictions. Such posts are few and far between now.

Horrible website. Claims to be a conspiracy theory site yet it is ran by CIA, freemasons and Muslims. Kinda odd don't you think? A conspiracy theory site where discussing grass roots conspiracy theories get you banned.

They also claim ownership of all material posted. They will ban you and you'll see your original concepts in books and videos 2 years later. This is more than political dialogue these sites are gathering, they are milking people to see what they know about the real world above politics, then dumping them off the deck before the topics can gain any momentum or resolution.

I used to like it, maybe i was young and naive, or maybe it hadn't been overrun by idiots with agendas. Someone writes a good post, and you think oh this should have some good comments from like minded individuals, but no, usually just these idiots trying to ridicule people who have an open mind. Definitely do not trust ATS anymore. I also got banned but i don't know why.

I joined this site to expose government corruption, when i presented them with proof of government corruption they banned my account without any notice and deleted my posts for being "off topic". There is nothing above top secret on this site in fact they ban everyone who was ever involved in any top secret.

When they really dislike you they ban you IP address and you can no longer access the forum from your computer. In short, these people are BRUTAL. They are misleading the public and may not even be a real forum. In other words, 8) they may be a COINTELPRO operation run by who knows who. 9) They claim to have thousands of members but most of them are post banned. Do you need more reasons to stay away? I like this forum because naturally, I'm a curious person. I'm open to learning new things about the world, or the afterlife. This forum is based on terrorism, paranormal events, government cover ups, conspiracies such as the New World Order and much more.

It is a very active community, with around 800 new threads each week. Customer Service is fine - they responded to my email within 48hrs and it addressed my concern on the response.

However - at a social level on the forum, many come across as very paranoid and make a post about something before they did research about it. However - I have managed to find some decent posts, and many being helpful.

Like the newspaper - this forum can be depressing. In other words - don't over use this site. Don't take all the information in a serious way. Half of the information that spreads through these forums are either false or someone being over dramatic.

I joined this site thinking it would be a nice place to post about paranormal occurrences. I was wrong. One is required to first post an Introduction on the site and mine was almost immediately bombarded with rude, vulgar and borderline inappropriate replied from two of the site's members. I tried to be as polite as I could. Those members posted several times to my Introduction topic this way and I filed a complaint about it with the staff in hopes they would handle those members who were clearly infringing on 15a and 15b of their terms and conditions which state that "You will not Post forum posts, private messages, PODcasts, blog entries, videos, images, and other supported content, links to images or use avatars and/or signatures that are unlawful, harassing, libelous, privacy invading, abusive, threatening, harmful, hateful, vulgar, obscene, and/or disruptive." and "You will not use profanity in our forums on the Websites, and will neither Post with language or content that is obscene, sexually oriented, or sexually suggestive nor link to sites that contain such content." and the staff rejected my complaint. Despite the fact that anybody with eyes could see that the members were cyber bullying the ATS staff claimed to have looked over the issue and determined that the two members did nothing wrong and essentially told me to get over it. I attempted to try to work something out with the staff, first requesting that the obscene posts be deleted which they refused, then I requested that they reconsider their decision and cited the terms and conditions that the members broke as evidence and asked them to at least delete my thread as whole if they would not reconsider despite the fact that I would have to start over with my post count and again they refused. I tried every way I could to reason with these people to get them to stop their member's cyber bullying but they would not even consider it and instead favored their older members over the new one despite the obvious rule violation. In the end, I ended up getting banned even though I had done nothing wrong.

I think Above Top Secret used to be a good site, but has really gone downhill the past few years, and especially this past year. Almost everything is an argument or a debate, rarely a lively exchange of information. It's just not enjoyable anymore. Many of those who post won't post beyond the 3rd page of the thread, lest they not get the attention and stars they crave... like a bunch of little Kindergartners looking for gold stars. I would say the majority of members who post regularly may or may not have above-average IQ's; some do, some don't... but for sure they have the manners and emotional intelligence of an unruly 14-year old adolescent.

Members feel compelled to preface their threads with disclaimers such as "I am not trying to impose my beliefs on anyone here, I am just putting this out there", and similar types of prefacing comments that would be necessary when trying to communicate with an unreasonable juvenile in order to minimize the backlash and getting b****-slapped.

I am done with ATS. IMO, it's become one of the worst sites out there. I haven't been banned. So no, they are not firing me, I am firing them.

Ats use to be great, now its micromanaged by some clowns that like to dictate what can be written or what comments can be placed, i was warned i needed to be careful what to say or i would be banned. They didnt like the fact i called tranny's cross dressers.
