Stay away from this site. My Malwarebytes Pro caught adware from this website, and my Superantispyware identified televisionfanatic.exe as a trojan.and got rid of it. Would someone please explain to me how in the world Norton would give this site a clean bill of health??? (safeweb.norton.com/report/show?url=www.TelevisionFanatic.com) Norton virus scan provided by Yahoo does not catch malware coming into my email either!! What's up with that? What's wrong with Norton?
Boy am I glad I read reviews before clicking on that all-powerful mouse. And Mickey thought he was big !!!
Do Not Download. Took me hours to get rid of it.
did it give your computer viruses?
Yes, That why I removed it
The site for this tool bar lies about what you can watch. Waste of time. Do not download.
Had all sorts of problems and I didn't realize I even had this, Says I got it from Facebook. Now trying to get rid of it!!!
It scares me downloading unknown software onto my computer. Tv is already available online without downloading anything. I don't understand how people get suckered into these things. On this site it says that it connects you to stuff from hulu and youtube. So why not just go to hulu and youtube? Why download something that might not be safe onto your computer?
This site LOOKS like tvfanatic.com but it is NOT that same site. tvfanatic is a good site
How do you get it off your cmputer?
Start / Control Panel / Programs = Unistall Program / (Left click select) = Television Fanatic / (Right click) = Uninstall / Okay / Restart
download Revo Uninstaller..That's how I got rid of it and several others..
Some uninstall software also may contain Trojans, Viruses or Spyware. When the program is a Trojan, Virus or Spyware itself how much would you rely on a uninstall software from the same distributor, manufacturer, or programmer of the same to get rid of the virus, Spyware, or Trojans? The safest thing to do is remove the program from the computer itself using the uninstall command in the control panel... or setting back the computer in System Restore to the time before the program was installed. To uninstall is listed above. The instructions for setting System restore is as follows: Start / Control Panel / System and Security / Restore your computer to an earlier time / Open System Restore / (Fear not the following step.. Just click "Next") / "Scroll to the Date-Time before the program was installed" (If you don't see the date click 'Show more dates' (If you don't know the date of the installation you can look up the date according to the program list in Windows Program Folder "Older Windows" or Programs x86 folder "Windows 7" located on 'C' Drive.) Setting Back the computer is a sure way of elimination, but ANY programs installed on or after the date of the virus installation will also be removed. This step should be taken if Systems Uninstall is insufficient to complete a full uninstall. Try the Uninstall instructions I listed above first! I had no problems with removing Television Fanatic in this fashion. ( I downloaded and uninsulated just to make sure there will be no problems before I posted. Sometimes this IS an issue.) Take heed I remove Viruses from Business and personal computers as a side job. I'm a computer tech and digital designer.
I'm confused here. It appears that some of these reviews may be for Televisionfanatic and others TVfanatic and some may be mixed up. The same goes with thepiratebay. Look at their address differences. TVfanatic and Televisionfanatic are seemingly different altogether but I don't want to find out the hard way so am avoiding both. I've heard good things about Thepiratebay but can't seem to find the correct one (one is '.com' and the other '.org' or something. I tried it and apparently got the wrong one and ended up with a mess. For now I'll stick to Crackle although their selection is limited. At least it didn't take over my 'puter!
before I was asked if I wanted it the retarded useless toolbar was downloaded on my laptop and went past all security to do it. now I can't find the software anywhere on my computer to get rid of it because it downloaded under a different random name they don't tell you and uninstall programs doesn't have it in there! DON"T even click the link for this website! I am complaining to the BBB about this hack they did.
Thanks to the VERY wonderful people at Mozilla I was able to remove the pesky toolbar! for firefox click the orange "firefox" button on the top left of the browser, then select the add-ons menu and then from there the extensions menu and its there that you can remove the toolbar from use.
Plain and Simply a Scam something I would never use.
Why download and not know what you are getting when you can get it for Free at other sites that don't require downloading anything.
as others have said.boy am i glaD i read before downloading!! also i want to tank reviewer who included instructions for uninstall/system restore. for years i have used system restore to help me get rid of unwanted programs/problems, it is nice to have 'my' method confirmed by others...my motto--'system restore is your friend' thx again
RED FLAG!
When I first found televisionfanatic.com, I was suspicious simply because it directed me to download the application to access the site features. RED FLAG! Ironically, I was linked to this site from Discovery Channel's website. I'm always suspicious of sites that want me to download anything. Glad I read the reviews here first.
I am so glad I read the reviews first before I down loaded this site

I been using Avast its always come good for me, get the Avast Free as well if you want to test I had Norton for about 10 minuets and was disapointed it could never remove a virus even if it found one and let me down whole sale. I use to packages really Avast to check for virus's and ad-aware just to keep an eye open for any nasties, I also use the rule of thumb advice, if its looks to good to be true then check for a review on Google 9 times out of 10 its "Trouble" with a Capital "T" good luck.
Also remember as soon as you hit the OK button alot of malware and virus by pass Virus software becuase you have OK'ed it at the start and deemed it to be OK so if you not sure be safe look for more advice on the net research it first before you trust anything.

T N. that probably warrants a review of norton too! it's a good thing you had your bases covered.
jay r. hi thanks i was just about to install it .. thanks for the heads up
Lisa M. same thx
Sam W. So much crap (malware) being advertised through google.. Google should be responsible after all they are making money off BS like this.. Thanks 4 the review..
I will be telling friends and family about JABBER :)
jay r. Ill tell you how Norton didnt catch it man ... $$$. ...need i say more?
Paul T. I have never had good luck with a Norton product.
deidra a. television fanatic is a virus! and i can not figure out how to get it out of my computer ive tried everything and it wont go! my computer is running very slowly because of it!
John D. Thank you so much for this review. I was just about to download it when I thought that I should first see some reviews. Again, than you for taking the time to warn us.
Amber W. Wow the site looked suspicious so Im happy I checked here first!
shirley d. I'm thankful I found this site. I was about to download that toolbar and I thought I'd google it to be safe. I found this site. Thank you !
Ira S. Same here Shirley, I thought the same thing!
dave l. deidra a. - please don't be this naive(not to be mean..), but turn off your computer, at the wall and if has power pack/ Battery..take out as well.
You have to take it to a computer repair shop..they have the latest gear to remove it and others you not be aware of.
Pay the money, as info is stored on your hard drive, and trojan's will retrieve and forward on to perpetrator. do it before it's too late..and check all private enterprises you may have used in the last year..Banks etc..they will learn all about you and then take over your identity..hurry, and cancel all cards and change all passwords/ pins..via another internet network- including warnings to all your email recipients..they need to be warned about the site..they attach a email link and send it to your outbox contacts..the ball keeps rolling, and they get rich.
I helped my friend out, so i know the destruction it can have on a person..trust me, and act!
James A. Glad to hear you have Malwarebytes, great software, but as for Norton, the reason is because Norton sucks. Anytime I get a new PC Norton is the first thing to come off. I recommend AVG or Avast. Both offer free and paid versions. Another one I hear about moving up is Trend Micro Antivirus, but I have not yet tested it out for myself. Hope this helps.

A P. Norton needs to go to the way of the wind.............Others, better, more caring companies will take their place.
