The classes you take are not transferable to other schools. So you will owe thousands of dollars in student loans, and you won't be able to get the prospective job you were seeking.
The tuition is insane. They tell you that student loans and grants are going to cover your fees, and then they tell you later that you still owe them money. Getting an online degree I thought was going to be easy and useful but instead going to an online school is worse than attending a real school.
I was enrolled in the AS for electronic engineering, but mysteriously they enrolled me into the BS halfway through my AS. Since the classes are 5 weeks long and go by fast I ended up taking courses I did not need to take. They pretty much screwed me there. The financial services are taking their sweet time to send me my final bill, and as shady as this college is I wouldn't be surprised if they send me to a credit agency before I even receive the bill. Also the classes are a complete joke. I can not even think of one thing that I actually learned. The big bonus is that NONE of my credits transfer to another college (except as electives, big whoop). Save your money and attend a real college or a community college. Hell I would take OJT from a elementary dropout instead of going to ECPI. I PRAY the military gets rid of its SOCNAV agreement with this college.
The tuition is insane. They tell you that student loans and grants are going to cover your fees, and then they tell you later that you still owe them money. Worse, good luck finding a job when you tell your employer this was your school.
My brother tried going to this school and then I joined soon after. I quit when he told me nobody was hiring him. Do yourself a favor, read the reviews about this school using google and see for yourself.
Penny, sorry to hear that your brother could not find a job. It is just a guess that he did not utilize the tools that ECPI provides in it's career services department. They seem to be very successful in helping grads prepare to seek jobs. Please seek out the qualified reviews!
Sorry to hear about others having bad luck with ECPI or finding a job afterwards. I actually have a perfect success story from my ECPI experience. I was working in retail, not enjoying it much at all, and decided to make a change by attending ECPI's online program for Network Security and Management. I had already taken most of my general education requirements and was able to finish my Associates quickly. I applied for a great job in I.T. during my last month at ECPI and was working in I.T. the week that I graduated. I worked in that position for 2 years and now have moved on up to an even better spot in I.T. for a major college. I loved everything about ECPI....ok maybe it's a little expensive, haha.

Recently we at SiteJabber published an infographic on the growing trend toward more online education. More and more students...

dave r. That's not true. ECPI is accredited by SACS (the same as UVA or William and Mary). Credits can be transferred at the pleasure of the school that they are trying to transferred to.
Demont S. that's a lie they are not transferrable.
dave r. I am sorry to say that it is not a lie. I think you will find if you take some time to educate yourself regarding SACS accreditation, you will find that credits do transfer (and I will say it again) AT THE PLEASURE OF THE SCHOOL THAT YOU ARE TRYING TO TRANSFER INTO. Credits are transfered if the class that you took matches a similar class that is required to attain the degree/diploma at the institution that you are trying to transfer to.
Demont S. Untrue. I've worked there for over 3 years and i've had hundreds of students try to transfer, including me, to multiple schools and none of them transfer, and if they did it would be something like 1 basic English class out of a hundred classes taken. So they do not transfer, you can just google any school at Random and ask them do they take ECPI credits and 99% time they will tell you no and the one that says they do will be ecpi. Try and see.
dave r. Again Demont. You seem to be confusing the issue of whether something is transferable and whether another institution accepts the credits. Additionally, just Googling some random school and asking them whether they will take credits is absurd. No professional admissions person would ever comment on a google query without significant exploration of the transcript. So, again I say, ECPI credits do transfer, if the institution feels that the curriculum matches that which the person is seeking credit for.
Demont S. lol too funny.. Ok so if this is true, you tell me what classes from ecpi have you transferred?. You're going by hearsay, I'm going by first hand experience, plus I've worked with every department there from financial aid to admissions to career services and trust me when I say I know the ins and outs of that place I know the ins and outs! I know a lot of things that I'm sure the college would rather me not say. But that will come out soon at the right time.
dave r. First couple of points.
1. I can find no record of your employment at ECPI nor are you currently employed at ECPI College of Technology. You MAY have been employed in the past.
2. Your employment history or status has no relevance to this discussion whatsoever since we are discussing the issue of credit transference.
3. No college anywhere must accept any credits from any other college. Credits are transferred at the pleasure of the recipient institution.
4. Every student who enrolls receives a catalog and signs an enrollment agreement that states that credit transference NOT guaranteed.
5. I am currently employed by ECPI as the Director of New Media Marketing. Feel free to call and ask for me. I would be happy to discuss this with you in more detail. I am located in the home office in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In fact, I am happy to refer anyone with questions regarding admissions, etc. to the appropriate party. Call 757-490-9090

David W. None of the schools take ECPI's credits. If you want to here laughter call ODU and ask which credits from ECPI they take.
