You might want to install "site advisor" from McAfee or the like. I use it myself and it has helped me reduce spam/ pinching etc greatly. It basically helps you to avoid site that a all about giving you problems. Lots of "interesting" sites passes and you will surely find whatever shops you want - just way safer.

You may have signed up at a site and your email address was exposed and harvested from web spam bots, or that site gave/sold it to a 3rd party (see their policy).

When you sign up for a unfamiliar site you can code your email address with that sites name so if you start receiving spam email you may be able to see where it originated from.

Note some sites will not allow coding your email address.

Example email site coding (spammers do it all of the time):
Your email address: youremail@address.com
You join site: newsite.com
Enter your email address for that site as: youremail+newsite@address.com

Adding a "+" then the "sitename" before the "@" sign is just a comment in your email address. Some sites will not allow it (prevents false users, or your knowing they sold your email address).

Try it, create a new email message, type in your email address in the body adding the +sitename (use any name you want) as above. Copy that to your "To" field and send it.

I went to Yahoo and now have a new account that I only use for signing up for things. Before doing this, I was getting some much junk because somehow my email address was getting sold or shared when I registered for something. My 'sign up' email addres is now something like (this is an example) adsfiooehgqoiehgo.yahoo.com
All I use this account for is to sign up for things, and I am registered under an alias with a bogus address.

I came to the conclusion, years back, that anytime I buy, anything online -- I'm careful. I always use a screening or business e-mail address strictly to avoid the innudation of spam from: male enhancement whatevers; SSDI; dating services, both legit. and sketchy; home product stuff, of every description; overseas e-mail phishers; and of course porn. Then, every so often, I dump the 'business e-mail account' and start over. I never, never give out important e-mail addresses to any business, professional org., political/lifestyle web site. My personal e-mail stays with me and my ISP. My family gets another level of private accounts -- and believe me I can tell when some clueless niece or nephew broadcasts my family e-mail accounts. They always regret the conversation.

blocked 146 porn sites on my computer, everything from citysex.com, to bang in your city. com...... I have not, nor will I every request this trash.....yet I get 8-12 a day from various sites...... it is past annoying....I have reported them to the BBB, FTC, obscenitycrimes, Attorney General's office, state reps and congressmen, to name a few......thee emails have no "contact us" or "unsubscribe" button (why should I be forced to unsubscribe to something I did not subcribe to in the first place? finally got through to citysex.com who told me they were protected by "freedom of speech"... funny, my lawyer says their "freedom of speech" ends when they "infringe upon my rights"...yet they continue home page send !!! and tell me it isnt them, someone else is trying to get money, really ? then why does their home page come up? if someone else wanted money, wouldnt that persons page come up ? I am fed up with all of these ignorant immoral people......
