Teeth whitening: how do I get it cheap?

After reading countless posts here on how people get scammed on teeth whitening products, I am wondering how I can get my teeth whitened cheaply and without going to a dentist...is there a way to do this?

What about those teeth whitening places at the mall with the blue light? Those are only like 50 bucks but I don't know if it works.

I had that mall blue light done and it did nothing for my teeth. They tried to sell me on some take home products after that and those were even more expensive. I think the light is a scam and it is the home products that work.
