I need to know about Quibids Penny Auction

Category: Advice on Websites | Views: 357

My daughter got my debit card and got on this site. I am so upset with her and I know it is not the company's problem but she lost a lot of money betting on a computer and I work hard for that money. The site even saved my card information so it was easy for her to go back and buy bids during the so called auction. She is an addict and doesn't understand that includes gambling. I guess what I need to know is how to contact someone in the company that I can talk to and get some if not all my money back. I am not going to put my daughter in jail and I know she not only fell off the wagon she fell under the wheel but with my money. What is the company like and who can I contact because email is useless.

Carol, I'm sorry to hear your story. I hope your daughter didn't lose too much....unfortunately, Quibids does not have a very good reputation: http://www.sitejabber.com/reviews/www.quibids.com

Which might mean it will be hard for you to get your money back. But it's worth a try...did you try contacting customer service here: http://www.quibids.com/help_support.php

I did send a couple of emails from her computer that I now have but got no response. I was afraid that was going to be what I found out because she put my name on the card information and her name on the account and our last names are not even the same. She is has my first husbands last name and I have my 2nd husband who passed 2 years ago last name. That is why I don't understand them letting her use a card with a different name on it. What if I wasn't her mother and someone had stole it. Because she had just done it in the last 10-12 days and what if it had been stolen. I think this internet stuff is way to easy for people to be taken for a lot of money. It may not be a lot to them but it is a lot to me.

Again, very sorry to hear that. The internet does make it so easy for things like this to happen and the websites they don't care at all. It might also be worth calling your bank or card company to see if they can do anything.

Good luck!

Sophie

I wish I had never heard of this site. I asked my daughter how she found out about it and of all things She saw an ad for it.
